Although our name is Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA), it is not just a women’s organization, we welcome men to our organization as well.
The Bellevue Chapter meets once a month on the Third Tuesdays of each month for dinner at the Hotel 116 (formerly Coast Hotel) in Bellevue. We bring in guest speakers who speak on relevent topics in Accounting, Finance, Personal Development and Tax to name a few. Each dinner meeting with a qualified topic under the NASBA rules, qualify for one hour of continuing professional education (CPE). We listen to what our members want to hear, so we are always seeking input from our members.
We encourage our members to be active and get involved in growing the chapter. What you put into the organization is what you get out of it. We are a group that believes in mentoring our members, developing leadership skills to reach their professional potential.
The Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance is a national organization with 80+ chapters throughout the nation. Each chapter holds a Board of Officers and Directors to run each chapter with the support from our national headquarters. Look up a chapter that is nearest to you. Each chapter is under the National umbrella, working in unison with our mission statement. Please visit our National website www.afwa.org
The Foundation of AFWA was founded to help advance those pursuing their accounting and finance degrees. Funds raised go towards various scholarship programs to assist students attending college or those getting back into the education system.
We believe in contributing to the development of our profession and therefore, conduct local, regional and national conferences to learn new skills to take back to our companies and add value to our clients.
One of our greatest attributes is our networking system. Where else can you call any one of our members nationally to ask them about an accounting or tax question or how they handled a certain situation.
Don’t just take our word, but come join us as a guest and see for yourself how valuable this organization can be for you.
